Environment Consultant

Job Description and Requirements

**Job Summary**

The EIA Consultant will deliver consultancy and advisory services to both internal and external clients to a high level of technical quality and to programme and budget.

**Job Duties:**

+ Assist in the management of and support in the delivery of EIA projects to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest standard

+ Understand and implement project management principles and fully appreciate the need to work within project budgets

+ Assist in the project management and preparation of project documents including Scoping Reports and related technical studies in accordance with project timescales

+ Assist in the production of Environmental Statement (ES) Chapters, and Non-Technical Summaries

+ Analyse data effectively and carry out desk based studies and site visits when required

+ Participate in team meetings, client briefs and other meetings as and when required

+ Prioritise project actions and meet commitments on an on-going basis while taking ownership and responsibility for the quality and completion of work

+ Produce EIA Programmes, Briefing Notes and other AECOM Project Management Tools

+ Interact with the EIA and wider Planning team to ensure the smooth running of projects

+ Keep up to date with relevant environmental legislation, policy and guidance

+ Research issues as part of the EIA process and to provide ideas, solutions and expertise to the EIA team.

+ Support business development through the production of Expressions of Interest and tenders, and to continuously improve our service offering for our clients

+ Understand and comply with quality and health & safety requirements and ensure these are addressed throughout a project

+ Mentor and develop more junior colleagues with the support of the wider EIA and Planning team

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Experience in EIA and Environmental Management

+ Experience in project management of urban regeneration EIA projects

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ You will have a good first degree and a second degree in an appropriate environmental discipline.

+ The preference is to be chartered with a relevant professional body or demonstrate you are working towards this status.
