Job Description and Requirements

Job Summary

As the Electrologist for the clinic, you would be:

  • discussing with your client the area needing treatment
  • deciding on which method of electrolysis (Galvanic, Thermolysis or Blend) to use on a client, depending on their skin tone and health history
  • treating any area of the face and body except the inner ear and the inside of the nose
  • inserting a very fine needle into the hair follicle and using a mild electrical current to kill the root
  • applying the treatment for periods ranging from 5 minutes to 2 hours, with an average time of 10 to 30 minutes
  • repeating the treatment weekly or fortnightly until the hair growth stops
  • removing certain other blemishes, including fine red veins, using advanced epilation techniques
  • ensuring a high standard of hygiene with all equipment.

Job Description:
1) Removes hair from skin of patron by electrolysis: Positions sterile bulbous or round-tipped needles into holders of galvanic or short wave electrical equipment.
2) Places secondary electrode in hand or immerses fingers or hand of patron in water-filled electrode cup to complete circuit and stabilize amount of electricity when equipment is operating.

3) Swabs skin area with antiseptic solution to sterilize it.

4) Inserts needle or needles into hair follicle and into organ beneath hair root.

5) Presses switch and adjusts timing and rheostat controls of equipment that regulate amount of electricity flowing through needle or needles to decompose cells of papilla.

6) Removes needle or needles, and pulls hair from follicle, using tweezers.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Should have at least 3-5 years experience in the same line of work

Should have certification and licensing
